About Me

Hi Everyone!

I am currently a third year history honours student at the University of Saskatchewan in Saskatoon. I enjoy studying early 20th Century European history and my area of interest is the rise of Hitler, the Second World War, and the Holocaust.

I became interested in digital history when I began working in the HGIS lab as a research assistant this fall. The Building Borders on Aboriginal Land 1860- 1930 Project led by Dr. Benjamin Hoy seeks to use digital methods to map the posts of federal power such as the Royal Northwest Mounted Police, the military, customs and immigration, etc. With this information the goal is to create a database or map of the types of power at a ground level in Canada and the United States between 1860 and 1930. An additional goal of the project is to map the movements of Aboriginal groups and how those movements may have been impacted by military posts.

Since I began working on the project I have learned some of the basics of digital history but I am excited to further extend my knowledge of digital methods this semester!
